Court Square Building

Unquestionably one of the City of Springfield's most ornate commercial buildings, the Court Square Building retains much of the details that makes it a great building. The building has had many uses over the years including a hotel, offices and also housed the Court Square Theatre, which no longer exists. Its recent history has been troubled by development plans that never went anywhere. Currently the Springfield Redevelopment Authority owns the building and is the process of choosing from four developers to redevelop the property. While it is hoped the building will be redeveloped in the coming years, it will be an endangered building until development actually materializes.
